OUR STORY

Built in 1894, The Goose Pond Inn was established in 1987 and was owned and operated by the Englerts for 33 years. In 2019, it underwent an extensive renovation under the ownership of Dakota Reed, bringing to its present modern style. Since 2022, we've made the Inn our home, and hope you will make it your "home away from home!"

Our mission is to make this the most relaxing place it can be after a fun day of adventuring in the Adirondack Mountains.

Adirondack Mountains

The Goose Pond Inn is nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains! While staying with us, you can partake in many outdoor activities regardless of the season. Winter brings beautiful skiing to Gore Mountain, which is just five minutes from the inn. You can also try cross-country skiing and snowshoe through the lovely North Creek Ski Bowl, which can be seen from our dining room window! Summer activities include mountain biking, hiking, fishing, river rafting, and rail riding with Revolution Rails. We're just 25 minutes to Lake George, which has many planned events such as Americade, and the Adirondack Nationals Car Show.  And, of course, the beauty of the fall foliage can't be beat. Come relax by our fire pit, or enjoy some lemonade and the beautiful views of the Adirondacks!

February 2026
I highly recommend this Inn. I spent the weekend in North Creek at Goose Pond Inn. Penny and Jeff do a great job hosting guests. The Inn is in North Creek close to small shops and restaurants as well as to Gore Mountain for skiing. The Inn is clean, friendly, up-to-date and comfortable, but has an authentic, historic feel. Jeff's food is delicious. Penny makes cookies, and there is always tea available. We will be back!

March  2026
My teen boys and
husband say I "hit
a home run" finding the Goose Pond Inn. Immaculate, extremely comfortable, quiet rooms, the best breakfast and snacks - like home, but with someone else doing all the cooking, cleaning, planning. 24/7 coffee, tea and cookies (Penny made gluten free for me all weekend!), fire in the living room with the most comfortable sofas and chairs and games or books, fridge and water cooler by the rooms. 3 min drive/10 min walk to Nordic Center and Ski Bowl. We travel all winter for races and this was the best place we've stayed. They even have a ski waxing shed! Perfect for all ages.

March 2026
Our stay at Goose Pond Inn was so wonderful! Jeff and Penny go above and beyond to make your stay the best experience. The inn is so cozy and comfortable, and the made to order home cooked breakfasts are amazing and perfect before a day of skiing! The seven hour trip to ski for the first time at Gore Mountain seemed like a long way to go, but now after staying at GPI, we're already planning a return trip! Penny even had gluten free cookies waiting for us when we arrived, and Jeff cleaned off our car the morning after it had snowed!
